New Year Stuff !

Well Dear Friends,

Another new year is here. It is time for renewal, resolutions, etc... Yet looking around the medias I see the yet-too-habitual-wars with heavy bombings and heavier suffering, and a major economic global crisis and basically the same powers in place with the same outrageous attitudes and dialectics ... And not writing from the middle age.
Ok. Here like most of us in the midst of it all, I am trying find some light and hope for this year and for the future.
I did find something. Big stuff it seems to me. How it will echo in this world. How it will brighten the future is still unclear. But to me it seems like some of the most interesting intellectual foundations of a new and better version of our world are there. Some seeds.

Lightness of Being: Mass, Ether, and the Unification of Forces
by Frank Wilczek
2004 Physics Nobel Prize Frank Wilczek tells all about the current state of Quantum Physics.
You will learn how mass is not really a fundamental property in this universe (at least for 95% of it) and how particles acquire mass.
But more than that you will learn about the Grid covering the whole universe and enabling, among other things, matter to appear and to disappear.
Quantum Physics is the state of the art about how the universe function. Most of our beliefs and "intuition" about where we live are wrong or at best partial. Knowing how it really works should make revisit our knowledge, our beliefs, our social organization etc... And become more rational in the true sense, and less bullshit prone..

Happiness
by Richard Layard
From and economist point of view, what is happiness? And how to build an economy that simply makes people happy and not optimize GDP while inhabitants feel increasingly alienated.

The Body Has a Mind of Its Own: How Body Maps in Your Brain Help You Do (Almost) Everything Better
by Sandra Blakeslee, Matthew Blakeslee
How our brain maps the body and space so easily according to its current needs including the space around the body. And this works so well for sports, for playing video games as well as other bodily energy effects....
So we have an inner hardwired ability to change viewpoint easily, and not to see things necessarily and "naturally" from the middle of our 2 eyes.

And with the collapse of people trust in finance sustaining global economy, we start to see good articles on a mafia system that worked hard to claim legitimacy and supremacy over any other form of social and economical organization. And soon there will be comprehensive books clearly showing how it has been a big scam supported by all powers in place. A scam that impacted not just our wallets but also our everyday life up to our self-image.
Waiting for such reference text on our current society you can always read or re-read some of the classics:

Discours De La Servitude Volontaire
by La Boetie

Utopia
by Thomas More

Civil Disobedience
by Henry David Thoreau

Le Droit à la Paresse
by Paul Lafargue

Have an Amazing Year!
